Craig helps out the Woodlands

My dear friend, Craig (you may be a little familiar with the list he likes to make), really came through for our Woodland room this weekend. Don't you love finding something you didn't even know you were looking for? That's exactly what happened when this Jenny Lind head and footboard showed up on my computer screen.

The ad read, "Antique Jenny Lind style head/footboards found in the rafters of my barn. Found and need to sell before we move. Make an offer."

I offered a mere $25 and wondered what type of shape it'd be in. Apparently no one else was interested, or I offered way too much, because the seller contacted me and said it was mine! I was really hoping it'd be a little more worn and weathered for something that had been stored in barn rafters, but honestly, it just has a really bad "shabby chic" painted finish and a few minor cracks. Oh well, it's perfect for it's new home! My daughter cringed when I showed her the pictures on Craigslist, but now that she's seen it in the context of her room, she really likes it. Whew...I was holding my breath a little on that one!

We're on the homestretch for getting her room finished. My poor husband said yesterday, "I'm ready for the Woodland room to be finished!" Guess I need to get my rear in gear and stop adding things to his to-do list.

  3. I am sure you have worked your wonders on the jenny lind piece. You need to finish the room while you are still excited about it; do not lose momentum.
