Client Living Room Pics

Deja vu? Well, kind of. This probably seems familiar from this post. Then again from this post. Do you remember my client wasn't sold on the art we picked? Then, they decided they didn't want to use their existing chairs. These two decisions sent us shopping and now we have a new chair and lots of new accessories!
I'm glad they changed their minds about the chairs because this one is oh so pretty. And those pillows...the perfect punch of color that the Mister's been craving.

We found these glass globes that are killer. They're much larger than they appear. Think giant marbles! I love how it allows their mantle to be simple and not overdone. Sorry for the tight shot, the background is a huge blank canvas waiting to be turned into a work of art by the entire family. They've been patiently waiting on the accessories to be purchased so they'd know what colors to use. I've asked them to send pictures when it's complete. Can't wait!

Great graphic goodness. Found this lamp and cute little box at Homegoods.

I love this stool. I want this stool. It's one of those finds that I was hoping they didn't like so it could come live with me. I've felt that way about lots of things in their house! They always say the best gifts are the ones you want yourself. I guess that's true with designing someone else's home, too.

Punch of color...oh yeah...how 'bout the big, bold, beautiful teal ottoman that takes center stage in this room. It's huge and it's become a favorite landing spot for their boys.

Please take a minute to appreciate the nailhead trim. Nice, huh?!

We crammed in all we could in one day, but a few things still need to happen before we can call it finished. A throw or two need to be purchased, art needs to be painted and wonderfully long drapes need to be sewn. So close!

Client texts and helpful tips

Texting is a complete assest when it comes to interior design and working with clients. I love it when I hear the little "ding, ding" and a beautiful picture appears of a client's space and a long awaited purchase sitting in its new home.

This week's exciting "ding, ding" had something to do with this...

And here it is in real life...
Now, take a peek at both chairs and let your brain wrap around the fact that they're shown in exactly the same fabric. So, YES, it IS important to order the fabric swatches and look at them in person. You can never fully trust colors via a computer screen.

Speaking of fabric, here's a helpful little tip. My clients had an existing ottoman that we felt looked great with this chair. We toyed with the idea of finding a coordinating fabric but luckily the lightbulb went off and I decided to reach out to the manufacturer of the chair and ask if we could purchase an additional few yards of fabric they'd use to make the chair.
It took a handful of phone calls to reach the right person but finally I found someone willing to approve the purchase, seeing as how they don't typically sell the fabric. It never hurts to ask!

I can't wait to see it in person and help put the final touches on this amazing house.

Client Living Room Snippets

Is anyone else having a hard time figuring out what day it is? Throw in a holiday and the hubby being off work and everyday seems like a weekend. I'm having trouble figuring out which way is up right now!

My clients made it home yesterday and walked into their fully furnished living room! They've been living without furniture since summer, but good things come to those who wait.

I'm only giving you snippets of their gorgeous room today because we're still waiting on a few key pieces to be delivered. We have some tweaking to do, but you can definitely get a feel for the direction things are headed with these shots.

This fabric is to die for. I may or may not have tried to talk the delivery men into taking it to my house instead.

Lots of color injected into the room through fun accessories.

What's a room without a fiddle leaf fig tree?!

Does this Chesterfield sofa even need descriptive words? Nope...I think it speaks for itself!

Oh, that chandelier! Its simple elegance really makes a statement.

Aren't these accessories fun? I only added the jug and the apple, everything else came right out of their cupboards.

Well, that's it for today folks. Here's to wishing you all a Happy New Year! I may sneak in one more post before 2013 but it's likely that I'm calling this year a wrap.

Client Living Room Moodboard

Work has been amazing this week! My clients are out of town and have trusted me to do their living room installation while their gone. Their furniture was delivered last week and I've been accessorizing like nobody's business. Headed to pick up their rug as the last piece of the puzzle today.

Here's the moodboard that provided our jumping off point. This was primarily used to help them visualize the sofas they were considering. You're going to flip when you see these beauties in person in the after pictures. See that cool chesterfield sofa?...It's white leather. And the curvy navy sofa?...It's a navy and cream geometric print. So pretty.

The art we found sent us in a slightly different direction in terms of color scheme, but it turned out great. My client likes lots of color and that term was definitely achieved. Check out the ottoman that's still to be delivered...

And, here's the chandelier that's hanging in the breakfast area near by.
There's so much much more I want to show you but I need to be careful just in case they're being sneaky and trying to catch a glimpse while on vacation. ;)

Can't wait to show the final shots!
