Random Act of Kindness #39

Today's RAK is a little bitter sweet. It's a super fun idea. It takes a little prep. It's one you get to be 'sneaky' with, but ours didn't quite go the way we expected

Let me walk you through the day...

Me: "Hey, Bryn and Reed, we get to do a RAK today. Who wants to help?!"
Kids: "I do!" and "I will, I guess."
Me: "Okay, Bryn, will you create a free bubbles sign for us to attach with the RAK card?"
Bryn: "Sure."

The next hour or so looked a little like this...

My busy little beavers knocked out 18 of these puppies and we were pumped that we'd be able to spread that much kindness in just one day!

So, next it was off to the park for the fun part...

It was kind of like hiding Easter eggs in the middle of June! Anyway, I found it very odd that there wasn't a single person at the park when we were 'hiding' the bubbles. I thought for sure we'd have to answer a couple questions about what we were doing or plan to come back another time when it wasn't crowded.

Well, apparently everyone else had watched the weather forecast, because less than an hour later this is how the park looked from the front seat of our car...

What??? It hasn't rained in ages! Why now?!

You can put two and two together and think about those pretty little tags that Bryn made up. Ummm, yeah, probably not very clear that these are 'free bubbles' anymore. And that RAK card attached to encourage them to pass it on...well, that's a runny mess as well.

I'm pretty sure not a single bubble was found before the downpour started! Now, it probably just seems like people forgot to take their party favors with them when the party ended.

Bryn and Reed handled it like champs. We got a good giggle and tried to look at the bright side...we desperately needed the rain. So what did we do?...went home and played in it, of course.

I really hope one of you will take this RAK challenge and complete it the way it's intended! Here's a little tip...the dollar store has 3-packs of bubbles right now. That means for a mere $6 you have the potential of spreading kindness to 18 people! How cool is that?

Need the RAK card printable? Just click here, download and print. In case you're new to this blog and haven't seen them, here's a peek...
Okay, friends, it's your turn...go out and be kind!

Random Act of Kindness #31

Raise your hand if at least 1 of the 2 coupons below is in your purse right now. Sadly, I probably have 5 or 6 expired ones along with the current ones.

Today's RAK is aimed at saving strangers a little moolah. So here's the deal...next time you're printing one of these coupons go ahead and print 2, that's right, 2. Then, when you're standing in line, find the person not holding the little white piece of paper and offer them your extra!

RAK Challenge #31: Print an extra coupon and share it with the person next to you in the check-out line.

I bet this is how you'll make that person feel...

While you're printing, go ahead and print a RAK card to pass along with the coupon. It'll be like getting a 2 for 1 special. You'll make someone's day then they'll turn around and do something nice for someone else! Score!

Just in case you need extra cards, here's the link

A special thanks to Pam for today's post idea. Wasn't she KIND for sharing this fabulous RAK?! If you've got an idea you'd like to share, please send me an email, dfrieling1@gmail.com.

Okay friends, it's that time...go out and be kind!

Random Act of Kindness #29

Today's random act of kindness is sooo very easy. If you don't do it, then you're a complete slacker! I say that with the nicest intentions. You're probably thinking, "What about those kind words you're always preaching, Dana?" Okay, not a slacker, just lazy...is that better?

Moving on. Has your car ever fallen victim to the ghost pushing the shopping cart phenomenon like the car below is about to experience?

For some reason, people just don't seem to think they need to put away their shopping carts. Doesn't it make you mad when you see the perfect parking place, you start to pull in, then BAM! there's a cart. No wonder everyone else was passing up that perfect spot.

RAK challenge #29: Park close to an abandoned shopping cart then take it inside the store with you as you go!

One of these kids is not like the other...bonus kindness points to the person who's willing to push this Home Depot cart back to its home! See Home Depot in the far, far background of the picture?

See what I mean? Such a simple little act of kindness today. You'll be setting a great example and saving someone's car in the process.

So there ya have it, friends...go out and be kind!

Don't forget to print your free RAK cards to use during all your other RAKS...click here.

Random Act of Kindness #24

I have RAK printables to share today!!! Remember last week when I asked for a random act of kindness? And asked for someone to create RAK cards for me? Well...someone answered and answered in a BIG way.

Let's take a minute to give a HUGE thank you to Jenn from The Former Miss for making these wonderful cards!

Ready to see them? Jenn did an amazing job, didn't she?!

So many great choices! You get to print them all then pick the one you want to use based on the recipient of your RAK. How cool is that?!

Before I give you the link, let me hand out a few words of wisdom.
1) Print these beauties on heavy cardstock so they'll have the appearance of a business card. They'll last longer if they're sturdy and this will help serve as a reminder to the recipient to 'pass it on.'
2) After printing, cut out each individual card. This way they'll be ready to go whenever the spirit of kindness hits ya!
3) Keep a stash in your car or purse so they're handy at all times.
4) Print tons and send the link to everyone you know!

Okay, so here's the link. Click here, save the document as a download, then print 'til your little heart's content.

I'm planning on figuring out a way to add this printable to my sidebar so it's easily accessible whenever you need it. Gotta work on that one still... Patience, friends, patience!

Now that you have awesome RAK cards, now all you need is a RAK challenge, right?

RAK Challenge #24: Send a surprise to a complete stranger in the mail.

Here's how this one works: Randomly open the phonebook (do you even own one still?) and pick a name, any name. Now address an envelope to that person. Inside the envelope place a RAK card and a few dollars. Make another little note that reads "Did you know that the word 'Stressed' backwards spells 'Desserts'?...Next time you're stressed, use this money to go treat yourself to a dessert!"

So, don't forget to get you're RAK printables. Once again, thank you, thank you, thank you to my friend, Jenn. Stop by her blog and tell her how wonderful she is! By the way, she's needing a little push to start offering graphic design services. Don't you think she should go for it? I do!

Now...go be kind, friends!
