$300 Rugs Direct Giveaway

Today's the day!! I'm excited that one of you has the opportunity to win a whopping $300 to Rugs Direct.

I can already hear some of you saying, "I'd never order a rug online. It's too risky!" That's what I used to think too. I'm not going to lie, I was very hesitant to order online even after being approached by Rugs Direct. I didn't have high hopes and I seriously thought I'd be sending back at least one, probably 2, rugs before finding one that worked. And, let's face it, sending back a big 'o honkin' rug would not be fun!

You probably share some of my concerns. Like...
*Color, color, color! 
Since my paint color was already selected and I was in l.o.v.e. with it, I didn't want to have to change things when the rug arrived and didn't quite work. I held my breath.
*Appearance. 
I kept thinking, "What if it gets here and looks cheap?" Once again, I held my breath.
*Softness.
I don't know about you, but I'm very tactile. I walk through stores and touch everything. It was hard, hard ordering a rug and not knowing what it felt like. Guess what I did? Yep, I held my breath.

Good thing the rug arrived quickly so I didn't die from all that holding my breath stuff. Much to my surprise the color was perfect. The appearance looked even better in person. And the softness, was awesome. What a relief! Would I do it again? Absolutely.

Rug Shopping

I'm going to take a quick break from the house tour and share a bit of my shopping with ya. Before I started blogging, I loved when bloggers posted sources of their cool finds. It's kinda like having a free personal shopper! They did the legwork and all I had to do was click on the link. Score.

We're in dire need of rugs in almost every room downstairs so I've been scouring sources trying to figure out how I'm going to meet this need without breaking the bank. Overstock has the below rugs at 15% off right now.

Overstock, 7x10, ($257.54)

Love this pattern but wish it came in a few add'l colors, although the green really peaks my interest.

8x11, ($288.99)

A great option if you simply need something to cover the floor without being a major visual.

Seagrass, 8x10, ($225.24)

If you can't cover your floors with wall to wall seagrass, this seems like a great option.

8x10, ($192.94)

Bold and graphic...two of my favorite things. Look at that price! I'm a little suspicious that the quality isn't the best, but with a pattern like this you may tire of it quickly so paying little for something that only lasts a handful of years may work out for you in this situation.

Indoor/Outdoor, 7'10 x 10'10, $186.14

Indoor/Outdoor rugs are a great way to save a little cash. They're great to use in high traffic areas or even your dining room if kiddos are a factor.

Moroccan Wool Shag Rug, 8x10, $569.49

Crazy margins on this picture, wish I knew how to crop those. Oh well, it's still a great rug and a top contender for our bedroom. I love the idea of something really soft underfoot as we roll out of bed.

Montauk Gray Cotton Rug, 8x10, $207.99

Subtle colors yet still graphic. Great for a neutral room.

Kilim Jute Rug, 8x11, $327.24

I really wish I could touch this rug. Some jute rugs are comfy and walkable with bare feet then there are others that you avoid like the plaque...itchy and scratchy.

This bench looks kinda blah here, but it's pretty in person. A great addition to your dining table or a sitting area. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it...anyone need this?

The color of this chair is really rich. This one's tempting me for my living room. Just wish it had arms. I sat in it and will report that it's comfy!

Jute Rugs are best known for bringing great texture to a room. One of my client's just purchased this rug and it looks great on her dark wood floors! I was a little worried that it might be too textured, in terms of how it feels on your feet, but honestly, it feels great! It's almost like getting a little foot massage as you walk on it, not scratchy at all.  Love me some foot massages!
