Out of the Woods!...Woodland Room Reveal

Can I get a high-five?...It's done! My toughest client to date has approved this project and signed off. We transformed her girly pink room to a forest fantasy. Go fill up your coffee and get ready for lots of pictures...

Quite possibly, the best feature of the room...a hammock chair!

"Mom, it's like I get to have a campout every single night!"she said.

A little furniture rearranging and styling is all this space needed.

A daily reminder as she takes a peek at her pretty self!

Shell fascination. This jar is the home of special rock and shell treasures. It's sure to fill up fast!

A curtain rod and clips are a great way to display your hardware...medals, that is!

My favorite part of the entire room. Little chipmunk perched on his mushroom with frog friends near by.

This Pottery Barn chair was pink just a few days ago.  Details to come, friends.

Remember my Habitat Restore find? It finally found a home.

Let's take a minute to appreciate that $25 Craigslist bed frame again, shall we?

The birds have been named and enjoy daily story times as Bryn sits in her hammock and 'talks' to them.

So you can truly appreciate the Woodland room...here are the creatures.

Artwork by my favorite artist...my daughter!

So what makes this room so perfect? It's the epitome of what defines Bryn. It only takes one second to walk into this space and know exactly what she likes. It's comfortable and functional. Now, if money were no object, of course, there are things we'd do differently. But, there was a budget so, it is what it is!

Thanks for sharing your time with me, friends. Drop me a line and tell me your favorite part!

Craig helps out the Woodlands

My dear friend, Craig (you may be a little familiar with the list he likes to make), really came through for our Woodland room this weekend. Don't you love finding something you didn't even know you were looking for? That's exactly what happened when this Jenny Lind head and footboard showed up on my computer screen.

The ad read, "Antique Jenny Lind style head/footboards found in the rafters of my barn. Found and need to sell before we move. Make an offer."

I offered a mere $25 and wondered what type of shape it'd be in. Apparently no one else was interested, or I offered way too much, because the seller contacted me and said it was mine! I was really hoping it'd be a little more worn and weathered for something that had been stored in barn rafters, but honestly, it just has a really bad "shabby chic" painted finish and a few minor cracks. Oh well, it's perfect for it's new home! My daughter cringed when I showed her the pictures on Craigslist, but now that she's seen it in the context of her room, she really likes it. Whew...I was holding my breath a little on that one!

We're on the homestretch for getting her room finished. My poor husband said yesterday, "I'm ready for the Woodland room to be finished!" Guess I need to get my rear in gear and stop adding things to his to-do list.

Woodland Room Spoiler

So we all know by now that patience is not one of my virtues! Hence, why I'm spoiling the 'big reveal' and showing you the progress pictures.
Oh yes...there's an arbor in this Woodland Room! Nothing like sleeping under the trees. I'm still trying to finalize the look. It's definitely in need of more tweaking before I'm lovin' it.

This little area will be getting some art and/or a mirror possibly.

I found the lampshade at Ikea yesterday and love how it pulls in all the colors through flowers. Perfect, right?! I still need to take the plastic off the shade. It's not as shiny as it looks.

Bye, bye traditional nightstand. If it holds an alarm clock, it works in my book!

Are you wondering if I used my power tools for this project? I have to come clean and tell you I didn't touch a single one. I played the role of Tim the Toolman's handy assistant and let my husband do the cutting. I bet he just cringes inside when he hears the words..."So, I was thinking..."

Lots to do still, but don't fret, I'll keep you posted. (Oh yes, pun intended!)
