Moving update (or lack thereof)

Well, friends, life's been a bit unexpected around here lately. We were all set to move this time last week but things got pushed back. And, today, I'll be greeting the movers at our front door to pack up all our belongings but instead of sending them to our new address, they'll be taking our junk precious commodities to storage.

The bank and the appraiser are having difficulty seeing eye to eye. And, our contract which has been granted a week extension already, expires tomorrow. We're holding our breath today that this only means a handful more days until closing, but the sad reality is that the sellers could very easily tell us their done and ready to wash their hands of us. Or, the bank will decide they don't want to agree with the appraiser and deny the loan. Our lender said he's "NEVER seen this type of situation."

Thankfully, John and I are at peace. If this falls through, it'll be extremely sad, but we have to see it as God's will. We were so convinced this house was a gift from Him, and maybe it still is. But, the circumstances of the last week have been extremely odd and very much out of our control.

We'll continue to pray our way through this and seek His guidance. It's a very surreal feeling to be leaving our house with a month's worth of clothes and nothing else!

I'm keeping the faith that you'll be in there fretting over which chairs to pair with your beautiful table and marveling at the pond dwellers before you know it! You're in my prayers!

It's never over 'til it's over, eh? Suck suck suck. Knowing it all works out in the end sometimes doesn't make it any easier to get through...at least for me in my faithful yet still impure doubting heart :) My happy thoughts are going out to you, girl!

Praying for you and your family Dana! I think God puts us in situations that are completely out of our control to force us to rely on Him. It can be tough, but so worth it in the end! My fiance sold his house in 5 days which left us scrambling to find temporary housing. We were down to the wire but God completely provided and it left us with no doubts that God was in control the entire time. Hope you get to enjoy that pond for sure!!

I've been encouraged by your words following the search for your new home, now I stand with you with loving prayers as you wait for God's answer. I pray for God's blessing, his timing, grace, peace, the beauty of His plan for your family today and the days ahead.

I'm sorry to hear this Dana, but I'm SO GLAD you two are at peace with the situation. Hopefully you will get this house, but if not, that means there is another one God planned for your family! My thoughts are with you this week!

Oh my girl, I can't believe this - but I know it will all get settled and hopefully in the near future you and John will be clinking glasses to your new home. Hang in there!!!
